There are a lot of great ideas that can help you to minimise the efforts you put in regular domestic cleaning, but not all of them will suit you. This does not mean that you have to give up – try a few things and decide which ones will be the most useful for you, your home and your lifestyle. Here are some more tips that you may want to turn into habits:
Using the rubber gloves as a pet hair removal. It seems that rubber gloves are not great just for protecting your hands from the hard water and harsh cleaning products. They can also be very useful if you have pets at home. After you have finished washing the dishes or cleaning the bath and while the gloves are still damp, you can run your hand over any upholstery or even carpets that have a lot of cat’s or dog’s hair – the hair will immediately stick to the glove. Thus, you will have a hair-free carpet and sofa in a few minutes only.
Squeezed lemons for the water tap – lemon juice and vinegar are very common ingredients for all home made cleaning recipes. They are very useful when you have to descale the water taps or the shower. However, most people prepare these solutions only when they decide it’s time for spring cleaning. The truth is that you can easily maintain the taps by cleaning on a weekly basis and it will take you no more than a few minutes. The only thing you should do is to keep the lemons after you have squeezed them in whatever meal or marinate you are preparing. Then take the two halves (you can cut them into quarters if you think it will be easier for you) and rub them on the taps in the kitchen or anything else in the bathroom that needs descaling.
Organising the folded sheets – a great way to do this is to put them inside one of the pillowcases. When you have guests or you simply have to change the bedding in your room, just grab one of the pillowcases/ sheet-holders. You won’t have to waste time in looking for matching sheets, covers, pillowcases and then putting everything back in order.
